Jacob (Jakes/ Jake) is among the rising class of corporate lawyers returning to law firm life after a steep learning curve with an in-house position. In fact, it was during Jacob’s in-house role at Premji Investment, when the firm was advising the fund on its partial exit from Lenskart, that we had a first-hand experience of Jake’s magic. His ability to jump right into intricate legal concepts and tackle the bottom line is nothing short of exceptional. This superpower of turning daunting “red flags” into practical solutions makes Jacob a formidable asset in the legal industry – and we’re super excited to have him on our team as Principal Associate.

Jacob's journey started in 2016 at a boutique law firm where he worked on various general corporate matters. Like the rest of us, he quickly realized his true calling in the world of VC/start-up when he joined the Bangalore office of CAM. During his time at CAM and extensive work with funds, he was also seconded to Alpha Wave Global in 2021 which strengthened his core specialization. His role at Premji Invest where he was exposed to a myriad of transactions, from investments to exits, M&As to joint ventures, and even some ongoing IPO-related work gave him deeper commercial insights on getting a deal done.
